It is important to check with your insurance provider prior to booking an appointment. The cost of session is owed at the end of session and you will be provided with an invoice to submit to your insurance provider. Most insurance providers do cover psychologist based services.
What is your cancellation policy?
I understand that life can be unpredictable and there may be times that you are unable to attend your session. If you are late, the appointment will not be extended past the original scheduled time, and you will be billed the full fee. If you need to reschedule or cancel, I request 24-hour notice. If not provided 24 hours for a cancellation/no show, you may be charged for the service. Please note that most insurance companies do not cover cancellations or no shows.
What is your availability?
I offer day and evening appointments Monday to Friday.
What is the difference between an SAP Assessment and a SAE Assessment?
SAPs are often involved in assessments related to the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations in the United States. They are typically engaged when an employee has violated drug or alcohol policies and needs a professional evaluation before returning to work. SAP assessments are focused on employment and compliance with regulations. SAE assessments also assess and cover employment concerns/compliance; they offer a wider range of uses, including legal contexts or specialized consultations. Please reach out to Rebecca if you are unsure which assessment you are needing.
How many sessions will I need?
It is often dependent on the presenting concern, the complexity of the individual, and the work that is being done outside of sessions. Most clients are able to reach their goals in 3-20 sessions.
Is what we talk about confidential?
Everything you say in session remains private and confidential. The only times that I would ever have to disclose your personal information to someone else is if you disclose in session that you are at harm, someone else is at harm, or my notes get subpoena for any court purposes.
Do you offer free consultations?
YES! I believe that matching with the right psychologist is crucial for clinically effective outcomes. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation before you book. These consultations allow the opportunity to meet with me beforehand. If for whatever reason you do not find that we click, please let me know and I would be happy to support you in finding a better fit.
I think I need immediate help.
If you are needing immediate psychological support, please contact the Distress Centre at 403-266-1601, or present to your nearest hospital or Urgent Care.
